Harrow Labour welcomes news that A&E Waits improving at Northwick Park Hospital   – 84.2% now seen within four hours

  • Proportion of A&E patients seen within 4 hours at Northwick Park Hospital up to 82.4%
  • News comes as overall picture of NHS changes, with waiting times 400,000 lower than in 2024
  • Ambulance response times now fastest in five years

New analysis from Harrow Labour reveals a 6.1% improvement in the proportion of A&E patients being seen within 4 hours at London North West University Healthcare Trust  in the last year – and a 9.1% improvement in the last month. 84.2% of patients are now seen within 4 hours. These improvements come as national A&E waits are now the shortest in more than four years, NHS waiting lists are almost 400,000 lower than at the General Election and ambulance response times are at their fastest in 5 years.

This follows an announcement earlier this month of 36 new and expanded Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) in England, backed by a £237 million government investment, to boost NHS diagnostic capacity and deliver more care in local communities as part of Labour’s wider plan to make our NHS fit for the future.

Publishing the data, Councillor David Perry, Leader of Harrow Labour group, said:

“We want to see waiting times at A&E dramatically improve – here in Harrow and around the country. But these figures show we are heading in the right direction. Down on the year, and down in the last month too.

“It’s not just A&E waiting times that are moving in the right direction – across the country NHS waiting lists are getting shorter and ambulances are arriving faster too. That is a direct result of the investment and reform delivered by this Labour Government.

“The Tories wrecked our NHS and Reform want to scrap it all together. Labour is the only party that can get our health service back on its feet and fit for the future.”
