The actions of a local Labour Councillor have helped save a business threatened by closure from an unfair fine by Harrow Council.
Poundstretcher, situated at the heart of Wealdstone high street, serves many in our community with its low prices at a time when the cost-of-living crisis sees family budgets stretched. Unfortunately, despite how much this business means to locals, the manager found his store threatened with closure when Harrow Council issued a fine for promoting a sale outside the shop.
Thankfully, the store manager contacted his local Labour Councillor who quickly swung into action, challenging this unfair fine on his behalf. Thanks to the fast
action of local Councillors, this business has been saved from closure and the fine rescinded, so it can continue to serve residents through this difficult financial period.
