Local Councillor’s advocacy saves threatened community business

The actions of a local Labour Councillor have helped save a business threatened by closure from an unfair fine by Harrow Council.

Poundstretcher, situated at the heart of Wealdstone high street, serves many in our community with its low prices at a time when the cost-of-living crisis sees family budgets stretched. Unfortunately, despite how much this business means to locals, the manager found his store threatened with closure when Harrow Council issued a fine for promoting a sale outside the shop.

Thankfully, the store manager contacted his local Labour Councillor who quickly swung into action, challenging this unfair fine on his behalf. Thanks to the fast

, this business has been saved from closure and the fine rescinded, so it can continue to serve residents through this difficult financial period.
