We the undersigned petition Harrow Council. We demand a Zebra crossing on Alexandra Avenue outside Rayners Lane Station. This will make the area safer for pedestrians and users of local bus routes and the tube station.
The new zebra crossing will make walking between shops and bus stops on opposite sides of the road safer. As well as this it would discourage pedestrians from crossing dangerously on this part of the road, reducing the risk of a serious accident.
Rayners Lane Station has 3.3 million entrances and exits every year showing that it is a major transport hub in the area. As well as this, there are several schools in the local area such as Pinner High School, Canon Lane Primary School and Newton Farm Primary School. This means that there are many children and young people travelling through this area regularly. This makes our concerns over the safety of the existing crossing even more urgent.
