We, the undersigned, are calling on Harrow Council to urgently improve safety on Gayton Road and Lyon Road.
1. Convert the traffic island on Gayton Road into a safe pedestrian crossing.
Gayton Road is heavily used by families, schoolchildren and local residents – yet speeding cars and the lack of a proper crossing make it dangerous to navigate. A formal crossing is urgently needed to protect pedestrians and prevent avoidable accidents.
2. Install proper lighting around the alleyway through the former Iceland car park (Lyon Road).
The area is poorly lit and has become a safety concern, particularly for women walking through after dark. Adequate lighting is essential to ensure residents feel safe using this route in the evenings.
We call on the Council to take immediate action to address these risks and make our neighbourhood safer for everyone.
