Councillor Peymana Assad represents Roxeth, South Harrow on Harrow Council and currently serves as the Shadow Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Environment. Arriving in the UK as a child refugee, she made history in 2018 as the first person of Afghan origin elected to public office in the UK. Peymana is the Co-Founder of the Labour Foreign Policy Group, a former parliamentary candidate, and was recognised as an Obama Foundation European Leader in 2020 by President Barack Obama.
