A community effort saw OVER 40 SACKS OF RUBBISH cleared from fly tipping and littering sites that would have otherwise ended up in Edgware’s rivers and streets.
Earlier in the year, Councillor Nitin Parekh donned his safety gloves and joined a community group to
tackle the rising waste crisis in Edgware. The group collected a variety of waste items, including a shopping trolley, petroleum cans and a knife that could have been used by criminals to cause harm.
The Edgware Brook is part of a river network that connects Harrow with the Thames and is home to several endangered species of flora and fauna. Thanks to the efforts of Councillor Nitin Parekh and the team, this river will remain a natural oasis for wildlife and a source of pride for our Edgware residents. We look forward to sharing more news of Councillor Nitin Parekh’s litter picking efforts.
