Residents and businesses of Harrow Town Centres are in uproar as Tory Councillors introduce evening parking charges as well as weekend charges in Council owned car parks.
Harrow, Wealdstone, and North Harrow town centres have all had either evening or weekend charges introduced, which will negatively impact trade and makes another dent in the wallets of valuable members of our night-time economy.
Valued community stakeholders have been treated with contempt by Tory Councillors, who promised to prioritise Harrow’s night-time economy but now ignore their pleas to reconsider parking charges.
This two-tier parking policy will leave Conservative wards, such as Hatch End, Stanmore and Pinner untouched – leading to business representatives calling local parking policy a “two-tier system”. In October, the Petition was presented to the Conservative Leader of the Council and his Team – abruptly the Petition was rejected outright.
